Bike Maintenance Courses

Whether you're looking to train to be a professional mechanic, learn some basic skills or organise a training programme for a youth group, we've got a range of courses to suit you. Our on site courses take place in our Park Tool equipped training centre in Cambridge but we also run courses off-site all over the region. Our courses make excellent Christmas and birthday presents, with gift vouchers available.

Open Workshop - Fix your own bike!

Are you keen to fix your own bike but short on space or need a few specialist tools? Perhaps you’d just like some advice while you build up your own bike?

Our fully equipped training workshop is now open for you - currently Monday afternoon/evenings and soon also monthly Saturdays!

We offer three levels of annual membership, Bronze (£20), Silver (£40) and Gold (£75), with decreasing hourly fees of £8/h, £6/h and £4/h. Members get access to a stand, tools, grease, lube, a library of bike manuals and expert advice from one of our qualified mechanics and of course plenty of coffee. Membership also gives you 10% discount on all workshop supplies, tools and repairs. For more information please go here.

Demonstration sessions

The most common reason we hear people don't cycle to work is the fear of a puncture. Our one-hour Maintenance Demonstration Sessions are designed to give employees the confidence and knowledge to fix a puncture, along with other fundamental repairs, so they can confidently ride to work all year round. We run two different sessions, puncture repair, and adjusting gears and brakes. At an hour each they can work as standalone sessions over a lunch break, or work well together as a pair.

Our qualified mechanics have a wealth of experience teaching maintenance courses and love to get people back out riding on their bikes. We offer discounts for sessions booked alongside Dr Bikes and booked in pairs. For more information please get in touch.

In one evening I went from being terrified of getting a puncture on the road to feeling 100% confident that I can deal with it. Catherine was a brilliant teacher and also made learning to change an inner tube fun!
