For the last two years, Outspoken Cycles have had the privilege of bringing various cycling programmes to the residents of Cambridge’s new Eddington neighbourhood. From monthly Dr Bike sessions, to maintenance workshops and a bicycle loan scheme, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed making cycling accessible for this growing population in West Cambridge.

On Saturday June 15th, we’ll be doing something a little different in Eddington, as part of the Eddington Discovery Day. The day will include a host of cycling activities including smoothie bikes, sprint challenges and a pedal powered jukebox. You can also take your bike along for a free check from Dr Bike and have a go at riding different types of pedal powered machines.

Visitors can learn how the new sustainable community is helping the environment with behind–the-scenes looks at the energy centre and conservation tours. Plus hands-on activities to help reduce plastics and food waste, conservation storytelling and lots of cycling themed games and events to try.

It will definitely be worth a visit for residents of Eddington, the surrounding area, and even further afield. With great cycling infrastructure from the city centre, a trip to Eddington Discovery Day will be a perfect way to spend a Saturday.

Find us at Eddington Market Square and Storeys Field Centre from 10am – 4pm. Full details about all the events, stalls and tours can be found at: rebrand.ly/eddcamb2019
